Meet my editor and good friend Joni Haddox. Without her help my stories wouldn't be what they are. Here is what Joni has to say:

I began my editing career in the early eighties, working on everything from CPA-created financial reports to a how-to hydroponics food system to a conspiracy theory-based book on global economics. Formerly employed by a mystery/research company in Texas, I edited all the reports their shoppers wrote as well as letters, complaints, RFPs and disciplinary communication.

In the ensuing years I have learned practices, rules and guidelines that regard different genres as well as types of writers; these points have made me a more well-rounded reader as well as an editor.

When I began editing the first volume of Gordon's Flyboy series, I was between editing jobs and had no reading material (for pleasure), so I agreed to do it for an admittedly ridiculously low price. What I have gained through editing Flyboy has been peace, entertainment, fun, a whole lot of knowledge, and an appreciation for writers and their craft, especially those who research. While I occasionally have questioned his use of words or situations, I am usually put back on track by the knowledge that his research has unearthed. The story has been woven through this country’s wars and other history and facts are decidedly sound. Reminiscent of the movie Forrest Gump, each volume weaves in elements of humor, tragedy, history, romance, pain and life.

Gordon has crafted characters that slip off the pages and into your life, sometimes when you least expect it. The characters will inspire you, entertain you, surprise you, teach you, and sometimes even shock you, but they will not disappoint you. Do yourself a favor and read these books, all ten. Read them at your leisure; take time to travel around the world with these characters and share their experiences. To enjoy the experience to the fullest and feel your stress dissolve, read the books in order; I guarantee you that your life will be enriched. I have hope that others will enjoy each one as much as I have.
