The Body (November 19, 2025) |

It was one of the more gruesome murder scenes I have investigated in my twenty five years on the force. The body was intact, no blood, no clothing, no identification, no anything. The body was a shell, only the flesh remained. In place of muscle, bones, organs, and nerves it was filled with a white jell. There was no evidence of the cause of death, no sign of trauma, no wounds, no sign of anyone else near the body, and no witnesses.
I was stumped. My only hope was the autopsy might shed some light on the matter. A sample of the jell was sent to a lab; the results disturbing: the substance was not of this world! The chemical make up was of undetermined elements and origin. Somehow the Space Force got involved. They confiscated the body and detained me, the coroner, and the EMTs who recovered the body. We were held in quarantine, subjected to a host of tests to determine if we had been contaminated in any way by the substance. The Space Force wouldn’t cooperate with my investigation, telling me the case was now a matter of global security. My mind went wild with speculation. Obviously the victim, whoever she was had fallen prey to some alien force or being, most likely to study human anatomy. I am writing this in hope that someone someday will find it and pick up the case. I close now for they are coming for me to wipe my memory of the case clean. If you find this, good luck. |
