The Disco

(April 17, 2024)

I should have known better than to have rented an apartment one floor below a disco; but hey, the rent was cheap and I was broke. It wasn't too bad except for on Friday and Saturday nights. The vibrations of the music and dancing shook the whole apartment and everything in it, rattling my nerves. But like I said, the rent was cheap.

It was really bad late one Friday night. Plaster was falling off the ceiling. What happened next changed my life! One loud bang and there was a pair of legs dangling from the ceiling, obviously a girl. The red high heals, black leggings and poofy skirt was a dead give away.

I tried to help her down, but she was kicking and screaming. Holding her legs tightly I ever so gently tried to pull her through but someone above was trying to pull her up.

Suddenly the whole ceiling gave way and she fell through, landing sprawled out on top of me. One look into her face did it. I was in love!

It turns out her daddy is rich! The reward for saving his little girl was more than I could have imagined, But the best part, she fell in love with me too. Now here we are married and I have cushy, high paying job working for her daddy and I don’t live below a disco anymore.
